“Perky Bum coffee anyone?”|Little Perth|Southbourne

Tonight I spent a truly fascinating evening diving into the craft of coffee-making — learning how to measure, grind, tamp, steam, and pour with something approaching intention (and occasionally success).

I explored the delicate balance of weight and timing, the importance of pressure, the beauty of a good crema, and even the differences between Arabica and Robusta.

All of this took place at the brilliant Little Perth in Southbourne, where passion for coffee is matched only by the warmth of the welcome.

The details of the evening’s course are here for anyone curious or tempted to give it a go:

I even managed to create some latte art — though mine looked suspiciously like a tiny bum. So if I ever need to make a living pouring a brew or two… I’m your man. (Or absolutely not. Depends how you feel about bum‑shaped foam.)

Thank you……csj
