Despite saying I’d never just point my camera at seagulls and go, I was out feeding the ducks with Fin today. The hubbub of birds was just magical to watch as they all battled for a slice of the action. It reminded me of how we are in our day-to-day lives—knocking around ideas, trying to find ways to get what we want, and striving to climb to the top of our game.

Sometimes, something happens that makes you sit back and realize nothing else in life matters. A dear friend of mine found out today that she has breast cancer. While I was shocked, I was also left with a familiar feeling of helplessness; I’ve been here before. All in all, it’s been a strange day, especially coming off the back of such a lovely evening yesterday celebrating my wife’s 30th birthday.

Never easy to hear news like that about a friend.
Nice framing here to contain the confusion and chaos in the scene. Too bad it doesn’t work with life too, but, well…it doesn’t.
Best,
Rob

I’m sorry to hear about your friend, I hope she makes it through all right. 🙂 As for the image, I love the wings, the blur just seems so smooth and…nice. ^^; Good contrast to birds ‘floating’ patiently (What exactly are birds doing when they’re sitting in the water like that? sitting? floating? swimming? XP)
