“Paper Millionaire”|#2|Poole|2008

I couldn’t post anything last night because Virgin Media decided it would be a brilliant idea to cut our broadband access for 12 hours without a single word of explanation. So, here is last night’s entry, finally delivered tonight. It’s another frame from the same session as the last post. I apologize for the delay, but that’s just how it goes sometimes!

I actually prefer this image, or at least I see it in a different light compared to the previous shot, even though it’s the exact same subject from a slightly different angle. The weird thing is, in my head, I distinctly remember shooting this after yesterday’s post, but the EXIF data firmly tells me otherwise. It’s funny how your memory plays tricks on you when you’re in the zone. As always, I’m really interested to hear your thoughts on the picture.

Oh, and after last week’s competition letdown, I had some great news today. I heard from the ‘Garden Photographer of the Year’ team, and they want to see one of my high-res images for possible inclusion in the final show. So, watch this space! 😉 … csj

I am a dayly fan of Chromasia and I got aquainted to your blog through the comments you write to Dave. I think that you make great photos, as this one is a striking example. Perhaps you don´t have (yet) the extraordinary thecnical skill of Dave´s, but you certainly have the art of making an image that we don´t forget.

djn1: I know what you mean, I am happier with the colour in yesterdays effort, but there was something about the tight in frame crop on this shot that I must have liked else I wouldn’t have pressed the shutter.
Nick:ho-hum, thats a great word, one of my favourites… and sure other than the moment itself, I guess you are right.(People don’t realise how difficult a moment like this can be to find, I blame the media!!!)
KevinR:Thanks for hopping across to see ID7, I appreciate the comment, and glad you see something in my images that you like, it means a lot. Come again 😉

First time hitting your site, and I must say,,,GREAT work! I followed your link from chromasia. I must agree with djn1, yesterday’s pic was more captivating and surreal. I really enjoy the tonality and feel you achieve with your images from your post processing technique. Very inspiring.

Well I prefer this one – I love the crop. To me this one is more surreal than yesterdays. Yesterdays was a bit ho-hum, this one requires thought to decipher.

All things considered, I think I prefer yesterday’s – it was more surreal and the colour added a depth that I feel is missing from this one. Also, having seen more of the context with yesterday’s, I feel that this one is a bit cramped at the top of the frame. All that said, I do like this one too – just not as much.
