Agreed that I could have used a wider angle, a lower angle of attack, and possibly some heavier editing on the background subjects, but there was a sense that this shot had been taken a million times before, not only because the ground where I was stood was worn out, but because as a photographer, this shot was just too tempting, and had to be taken.
Anyway the weekend spent with Dave from Chromasia was not about necessarily finding new and untaken images, but about the techniques that we can use to make our images more appealing, and to master at least one small part of Photoshop for the sake of improving them. A great teacher, and patient onlooker, I can only recommend that you take time to save up your pennies and get along to see him, it was very worthwhile.
These old tubs must have a story or two to tell, and whilst sniffing around the net, it appears that a lot (not all of course) of the earlier steam vessels to sail out of Fleetwood at the turn of the century fell victim to stray mines and the like. I’m not entirely sure of these wrecks and the fate that befell them, but If I lived nearby I would revisit them quite often. It’s a remarkably peaceful place. C.
