“Leaf on the Beach”|Tyneham Bay

This was my entry for yesterday’s Thursday Photo Challenge (alas the competition site has gone now, although the domain is still there)

While it might look a bit contrived, both the leaf and the stone were already right there on the beach. I admit, the positioning had a little bit of help… OK, OK, I moved the leaf.

I adjusted the hue and softened the background to create some separation. The underlit beach helped me achieve the cold, wintry, and autumnal feel I was aiming for.

I like this picture a lot. I like the leaf in the foreground. Great color against the greyness of the rest of the scene. I like the sweeping motion of the hills in the background too. The depth of field is perfect for this shot.
If only the leaf didn’t have the blemish, but it is hard to change nature.

Nice. Great tones. I like what you did with the areas other than the leaf. The tones and color choices are grand.
