We finally got the bikes out for the first time this year. Amber’s new bike gave us the perfect excuse to go exploring some of the local areas around Poole we hadn’t seen yet.
We’ve known for a long time there was a beach over at Hamworthy, but we’d never actually been down to try it for size. It turned out to be a great spot, complete with a fantastic row of cliché beach huts just ripe for photographing.
Long story short, I went back the very next day when the weather picked up to shoot them properly. Strangely enough, scrawled across the front of about half of these huts were the words, “Bertie Huff is a wanker”. I have to admit, I’m now incredibly intrigued as to who exactly this Bertie character is…
I kept things simple on the technical side. I used the 20D and zoomed the 17-40mm all the way out to 17mm to fit the whole row of huts into the frame. Shooting in aperture priority at f/11 gave me enough depth of field to keep the text sharp on the doors down the line.
