how I use categories on id7 All the entries on id7 are placed into one of seven primary categories: six to reflect the aspect ratio of the image, and the seventh to indicate that an image isn’t available as a print. Additionally, each photograph may be assigned to one or more additional categories or subcategories, e.g. my HDR category, self-portrait category, children category, and so on.
5 October, 2007 | Leaf on the Beach - Tyneham Bay | 2 comments

This was my entry for yesterdays' Thursday photo challenge:

Thursday Photo Challenge

When I took this, albeit that it appears contrived, the leaf was on the beach, as was the stone, it was just its positioning that may have had a tiny bit of man handling.... OK OK so I moved the leaf....

This shot had a hue change and some softening to drop the background out, I wanted a cold autumnal / wintery feel to the shot, so the underlit beach made it so.

22 November, 2006 | "Chairs" | 2 comments

This might look like a slightly out of focus shot of some table legs, because thats exactly what it is. However there is method in my photographic madness.

I will post this as Thursdays entry on Thursday Photo, which has a theme of Chairs, Chair, etc etc. So rather than just post a picture of a chair, I'll just give you an essencse of "chair", a waft of "chair", a small vision, or idea of "chair"

It was shot intentionally, before anyone asks, and as chairs in themselves arent particularly interesting, I tried my very best for you, honest....

And anyway, altho not technically my best shot ever, I like it....

If anything wierd occurs with the page over the next couple of days, its because I am in the middle of upgrading to MT3.33... its a pig

I studied photography after I left school, which actually took me to my dads' place of birth, WARE.

I went to the local Art College and studied photography under the masterful tutiledge of Paul Bennett and Malcolm Kemp, they certainly molded our skills at the time.

Rightly or wrongly, we all became quite structured and routine in our photographic approach, something I was to later realise was maybe a bit to restricting. Anyway enough on that......

It was being in and around the old market town of Ware that I had opportunity and time to take a few shots, which until now I havent really done anything with.

Let me know as always what you think.
