how I use categories on id7 All the entries on id7 are placed into one of seven primary categories: six to reflect the aspect ratio of the image, and the seventh to indicate that an image isn’t available as a print. Additionally, each photograph may be assigned to one or more additional categories or subcategories, e.g. my HDR category, self-portrait category, children category, and so on.

I know, 2 days on and I still havent met with my promise of posting the image of my wife, its in the can, I've just got to tweak it, under strict instructions to make sure she looks good.

Personally speaking I think she looks great all the time, but its airbrush that, blur this, I dont know.....

So in an attempt to not let the side down, or get into huge marital disarray I opted for the easy option, to post another one from Poole, Baiter....taken on the same coast line that I walk almost weekly (almost), and only a stones throw from where we live. I feel kinda lucky I guess.

There are plenty of photographic opportunities here, and I am going out tommorow to see if I can capitalise some more, with a photographer mate, Paul.

Lets see how it goes, watch this space.....

Went to the house again today, I've got the keys now, went to wait for a builder to pop round for a quote or two, was interesting just to spend some time in the spaces.

The previous owner had left a few bits behind, this ted was just sat in the kitchen amongst the stench and filth that we now have to contend with. Anyway no worries, gonna rip the entire thing apart anyway, so it looks like smelly ted is heading for the skip, unless someone wants to embark upon a save the ted appeal.....

We went to the new house tonight to have a look at whats what, finally got through the backdoor into the garden, its totally overgrown, but its nice like that, I'm really excited thinking that we'll finally actually 'own' somewhere thats ours, as a family, properly for the first time since we were married.

Anyway its a great feeling even tho the house is a complete poo pit. I have a good vision of when its finished...

I saw this face staring back at me on the side of the old shed, ...... maybe its the old man who built it, wonderng when I'm going to knock it down, ....... maybe its the old lady wishing us well when we move in as a family, ....... or maybe its ODDBOD with a bolt through his neck, but then again maybe just......... maybe its a knot in a piece of wood......maybe! ;-).

As always let me know what you think....

When I first got the Canon I wanted to just get out and shoot whatever I could to test it out.

When I saw these birds up and over my head I chanced a few frames in their direction. Not the most inspired shot, but the chaos in the frame made for an unusual shot, reminiscent of an Alfred Hitchcock movie?

Let me know what you think.....

This one is for Greg, its another from the same day, and in the Fog Series, its slightly surreal in as much as this guy just disappeared into the fog, and I guess jumped onto a jetski or similar....

A crazy thing to do if you ask me but I guess it all adds to the excitment, not seeing where you are going?......nutter!...

I live opposite this view, so as you can imagine I watch it closely and over the months have photographed it several times.

However this day was different, the wind changed direction and a fantastic sea mist blew in land, the trees, people and boats in the distance dissappeared.

I remember I'd just been in town and had only just returned when this happened, so I grabbed my kit and went out and did several shots of subjects dissapearing into this freezing mist, it was great. I will post others from this series later aswell...

I've been working on a series on 'passerby' for many years now, I have a lot of images from many countries and will over the next few months upload these as entries which will form a seperate folio on passerby.... comments please.

This is a relatively loose theme to follow, but it makes for not only a simple symmetry in the image, but an unusual perspective into different cultures and society........let me know what you think.

St Aldehlms Head.... at 6.50am ish, why you ask, well I was endeavouring to fulfil the necessity of two things. My new found energy I have for my photography, (thank you Canon), and a want to fulfil a project, (thank you www.fotolibra.com), for the incentive.

This is part of a series on this Norman Chapel... I may upload a few more for comments in the forth coming weeks.

Mart a great friend of mine, fantastic guitar teacher, and a musician. I've been wanting to photograph him for a long time.... so I took my opportunity, asked him and he agreed, I managed to get a series of shots that I believe capture the man and the tools of his trade. Slightly sombre shots although you could call them moody.

Mart lives in a bungalow, and ever since moving in some 13 months ago, he has yet to unpack. The only room near completion, with the exception of his office is the studio.... ;-) he makes me smile.

Also the only time he was available, was late into the evening, this man doesn’t ever stop. Its no wonder he doesn't collapse from exhaustion with all the planning, driving, and general mayhem that must surround his life. Anyway he made a good sitter for this portrait, and should you ever require guitar lessons let me know through the site and I'll drop him a line for you

Mel and I decided that the seasons were on the change and to prove this to ourselves we went for a late evening walk to Sandbanks, grabbing the camera I decided low tide could reveal some lovely shots across the bay.

The frame you see here was one of a series caught that evening, on the turn of a tide the moment would have been lost, but this lady and her dog walked out in the bay for well over an hour, we bumped into her on our return home.

I showed this shot to some other photographers recently, they said I should have cropped the shot into a landscape and loose the detail in the foreground, I chose to ignore them... let me know what you think.....

Grabbed this moment in time, at Boscombe pier, on the radio we had heard that dolphins had been spotted so my step daughter and I shot over to the pier to see what we could see, she decided now would be a good time to run the entire length of the pier, to see what she could see............ we didn’t see any dolphins, never mind….!

It was her idea I think, anyway she is dying to see some, or better still swim with them............

Went for a ride on our bikes for the first time this year, Ambers new bike meant we had the perfect excuse to go investigate areas we hadn't seen.

For a long time we knew that there was a beach at Hamworthy but had never seen it or tried it for size. It was great, a fantastic row of cliche beacj huts ripe for the shooting......

long story short I went back the next day when the weather was better to shoot them again... Scrawled across the front of 10 out of 20 of these were the words "Bertie Huff is a walker".... I am now intrugued as to who this person is....
