OK ok , so I didnt make a post yesterday I let myself down, but infact I've been hard at it, I mean solidly for the last weekend and today, I knocked out a kitchen and flattened a shed, smashed off tiles, swept, cleaned, scraped, and I'm knackered again, but I did promise that I'm gonna make todays post before midnight........

In four weeks this nightmare of moving and setting up a house will be over.... or at least I hope it will be..... I'm not quite sure how the bank balance is gonna work out, but I'm sure gonna give it a go.....

Time to light a candle and chill out for an hour..... nite..

As always let me know what you think....

I do love this daughter of mine, she makes me smile, she makes me angry, she makes me think, she makes a stink, she makes me laugh till my sides split, she makes me sad, she makes me question my sanity, she makes me poor, she makes me go without, but most of all..................... she makes me whole.....

Kiddo you are definately 9 and growing up ......

Its funny, this little fella has been through a lot emotionally, I hope he's gonna be ok, people say kids bounce back, and all you can do is hope and believe that its true. I always say he's my favourite nephew, I get glances from my niece, then she twigs that he is my "ONLY" nephew and everything is ok again....

I miss them both, but I guess thats what happens to families when theres a few miles between them.....

This picture was shot off the hip with the Nikon E990 it was great for this kind of thing, the series leading up to this moment were similar but this frame poised with symmetry and meaning has it all.

And to me, describes, I guess the mood at the time. Which I think for all parties, including his, was difficult, although he may not know it yet....or indeed at all.

I love them all....

Its my wifes birthday today, so I thought what better way to celebrate that, than to showcase some of her own photography. I am always there to encourage her hidden talents and find myself bemused by her skills......jewellery, supermum, fantastic 'shopper', etc etc

Anyway one afternoon I pick up my trusty Nikon and wander off out to take some shots, when I preview the card to see whats on it I find a 'special' series of pictures on a similar theme.... put there just to make me smile

Happy Birthday Mel.....youre one of a kind, love ya.

I've been here for 5 years or so now, and I love this part of the country. Its changing tho, even in the short time I've been here I've noticed large corporates moving in on land, Entrepreneurs buying up derelict warehouses, established companies moving out of the area to green field sites to capitalise on the land they once owned, huge buildings being constructed with little regard for their surroundings, again for capital gain.

Dont get me wrong I'm not opposed to capitalism, Just when it affects those that it surrounds.

This picture shows erosion, which in light of my feelings about things sums it up. I dont know if the tree is still there I may take time this weekend to go see if its still there.... I doubt it, by my reckoning it should have fallen a while back.

This was shot with a Coolpix 990 Nikon, a great design concept camera, and a real little workhorse.....

I spent a weekend away, with my old mum, she wanted to take time out with her camera and it fell in line with my life at the time... I needed a break....

She had a friend with a place near Derby which gave us access into the South of the National Trust Land, onto the Moors of the Pennines, it was a great weekend, the shots were quite revealing for the time, and I was very pleased with this image, shot at Chatsworth Manor...

Again technology has moved on a lot since then and this camera, albeit an ok unit, lacked definition and depth in terms of pixel count, the image is best left at less than A3 or 12x16....

Mel had an opportunity to work on the Isle of Wight for a day, so we all decided to go, and make the day of it, it was only a part day job anyway, and we thought we could blag the best part of the day at the Tiger Sanctuary, which conveniently was by a beach, so we made the absolute most of the time we had, the light was great and the moment on the beach was special..... its a long story, but it was special....

I hope for more times like that, it was one of my favourite times.

Kiddo made some great moves on the shore this was one of about 5 frames that I liked a lot, I might put up more in the future, maybe..... or into a seperate folio.

Its a big week this week, kiddo goes on her first trip away, I remember feeling the huge sense of freedom during and after being away from home for the first time.

We would have done Cuffley Camp or something like that, but I think my first real away from home adventure was camping in someones back garden for a couple of nights when I was about 10-11 anyway times change, shes off for 4 BIG HUGE days without any contact from Parents apart from a letter, (we've been instructed to write).... quite scary really, but hey I've paid for the week, so I think all parties will enjoy it equally.

That said, as her stepdad I'm gonna miss her........

A moment caught, it just seemed like a cliched shot but I had to make sure I had it in the bag. the guy just lyeing there and me not knowing if he was asleep, dead, kinda made the shot more real.

The first aid flag an apt symbol for this mans predicament.

I was working with a 3.2mp Nikon at the time, and altho optically sound this camera did have its limitations.

I was still adjust adjusting to the concept of digital having only really just moved from film.

Not that i should use that as an excuse, but maybe why there were very few images around this time that I wanted to qualify as any good.

Anyway it was this day that England beat Germany 5 - 1 for the World Cup 2002 Qulaifier..... what a night!!!

Kefalonia, quite a dark time!, personally speaking, but I was on a much needed break away in the sun, and found an opportunity to get the old seeing eye active again.

Not many shots came from this time away, but none the less a few were worth keeping.

As always let me know what you think, and leave me some comments, it only takes a few seconds.

Shot in a car-park in Perth WA, somewhere near a Koala sanctuary, and opposite a coffee shop. Not a lot to say on this one other than that it was a cliche waiting to be snapped, very shiny irresistable in someways, and what with it being a bright, warm, Australian summers day, I could not resist.

If you have anything to comment then feel free, but this one for me was a pretty obvious cliche.
