It was our 2nd anniversary, Mel had booked us into a hotel in Brighton for the night, down on the marina, it was fantastic, lovely room, great views, etc , we had a few drink’s and then the inevitable hangover the next morning.
We went to the ‘Lanes’, she got to go to the MAC store and I got to photograph a few bits of Brighton.
Met the guy who ran brightonphotography.com/ he was selling prints in the street, very inspiring to see someone actually selling their images, and at a fair profit too, great niche market selling popular images, just a few, but in lots of shapes and sizes to meet taste and demand.
Figured they're might be a market for that here in Poole, I might look into it. Anyway he was an interesting guy, so I bought a print, and came away happy in the knowledge that photography is not a dead art form.........
I didn’t leave Brighton before having a go myself at what I perceived to be a very visual place. The rings in the sand of this image were being created when I arrived, the little man with the shovel scooted away pretty quick when i asked him if I could take his portrait, muttering something about not wanting to be caught, and that the radio stations were on to him. I may put up a shot of him another time, anyway I'll leave you with this image of his rings / dog / and the burnt out West Pier, Brighton...... enjoy
I guess I did ruin the moment, I'll just remove the comment about the spade then, shall I??.....
